A Rich Tradition of Music

Long ago, Martin Luther wrote an introduction to a hymnal in which he said, “Next to the Word, music is the greatest gift of God.”

First Lutheran counts numerous gifted amateur and professional musicians among its membership. We rejoice that God’s gift of music has been so lavishly showered upon us. Come to First Lutheran and you’ll experience the talents of our choir, bell choir, instrumentalists, and soloists. Our collective talents have the purpose of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ for all to hear and be deeply moved. The congregation also hosts guest musicians through concerts in conjunction with Second City Chamber Series and its Young Chamber Players, the Cora Voce community choir, the Thursday lunch summer series and other visiting artists.
