Thursday Morning Bible Study:

Dive into the bible! Join anytime, all are welcome. Led by Pastor Nesvig.
Choir, Handbells, & Ensemble:
Meet every Thursday | 6:15pm (Bells), 7:30pm (Choir) and 8:30pm (Ensemble) | Sanctuary

BREAD Groups:
Intergenerational fellowship groups made up of 6-8 members of the congregation for “Bible Reading Eating And Discussion!“ Location and schedule rotates throughout the year. Loads of fun and a great way to get to know a small group within our church family.
Young Adults BREAD Group:
Meets 3rd Sundays following 10:30 service | Local coffee shops
All are welcome to join us for lunch and faith questions led by different young adults of our congregation.
Men’s BREAD Group:
Meets 1st Saturday of the month | 7:30am | Allenmore Golf Course Restaurant
The men of FLC meet for fellowship and study on a monthly basis. All are welcome!
Women’s Book Group:
Meets 2nd Sunday of each month | 7:30pm | Locations Vary
You don’t even have to have read the book to enjoy this group of dynamic women. Join us – you’ll love it!
First Friday Club for Seniors:
Meets 1st Friday of each month | 1:00pm | FLC Fireside Room
All seniors welcome for fellowship and a new topic for discussion each month.

Phoebe Circle meets 1st Monday of the month | 10:00am | Tacoma Lutheran Home
Lydia Circle meets 1st Tuesday of the month | 12:30pm | FLC Fireside Room
Quilting:
Meets 2nd Tuesday of each month | 10:00am-12:00pm, FLC Fellowship Hall
You’re invited to join us for quilting, regardless of your level of experience! Quilts are donated to those who stay with us during the Phoenix Housing Program twice a year, to the Homestart Program of Tacoma, and to Lutheran World Relief. Bring a sack lunch.
Retreats, conventions, etc:
We are part of the SW Washington Synodical Organization and the Narrows Cluster, which sponsor workshops, retreats and conventions. There are always opportunities for inspiration, education and sociability for all women.
Worship & Music Team (WAM):
Meets 2nd Tuesday | 6:30pm | FLC Fireside Room
WAM is about who we are as a worshiping musical family. We work together to oversee all aspects of our worship services including the Altar Guild, liturgy, worship music, musical groups, choirs, concerts, special services, and more!
Social Ministry Team:
Meets 3rd Sunday | 12:00pm | FLC Fireside Room
The Social Ministry Team is at the forefront of outreach in our local community! We are active in support and participation of Bread for the World, Peace Lutheran Feeding Program, Phoenix Housing Program, Hunger Walk, Habitat for Humanity, Paint Tacoma Beautiful, and monthly food drives supporting FISH Food Bank.
People are invited to participate with First Lutheran members in the Habitat for Humanity build. Contact Jerry Peterson through the church.

Health Ministry Team:
Meets 3rd Sunday | 11:30am | Library
Together we provide and support health education, blood pressure screening, annual flu shots and more!
Outreach Team:
An extension of the FLC Council, we work to celebrate the great commission in our church and in our community!
Altar Guild:
Responsible for preparing the chancel and its furnishings for worship, our overall goal is to see that our worship space is kept beautiful to glorify God and provide a setting in which the congregation can worship in a meaningful way. Altar Guild members serve for a month at a time, coming in on a Saturday morning to prepare for Sunday worship.
